Ensure the printer has successfully completed its physical initial setup—the ink is installed, paper is loaded, the carriage is silent, and the unit is powered on—but keep the USB cable entirely disconnected from the PC.
Navigate to the official manufacturer support website and download the full software or driver package specifically designed for your exact model and your version of Windows. Launch the downloaded installation wizard. As the software extracts and prepares its files, it lays down the necessary system architecture in the background without fighting the OS for port control.
Eventually, the wizard will ask how the printer will be connected to the machine. Select "USB" or "Direct Connection."
