HP ScanJet Buying Guide

Dedicated document scanners pay for themselves the first month you go paperless. Here is how to pick the right HP ScanJet for the volume you actually have.

Sheet-fed vs flatbed vs combo

Sheet-fed ScanJets like the Pro N4000 series scan stacks at high speed. Flatbed ScanJets handle books and odd-shaped items. Combos like the ScanJet Pro 2600 f1 give you both.

Pages per day vs duty cycle

ScanJet Pro 2000-3000 series handle 1500-4000 pages/day. Enterprise Flow N6600 and N7000 handle 7500+ pages/day with two-sided sheet scanning.

OCR and PDF/A

Every modern HP ScanJet supports searchable PDF and PDF/A output for legal archives. Confirm your records management system accepts PDF/A-1b or 2u before standardising.
